Co-pays are a fee that many insurance companies require an insured and their dependents to pay for certain medical services (such as a physician’s office visit). Because Fresno Children’s Medical Group in contracted with your insurance company we are required to collect a co-pay each time your child/children are seen. For our parents convenience Fresno Children’s Medical Group does accept all major credit cards as well as checks and cash. Does Fresno Children’s Medical Group accept Medi-Cal? No, Fresno Children’s Medical Group is not a contracted provider for Medi-cal. Does Fresno Children’s Medical Group accept Healthy Families? Yes, Fresno Children’s Medical Group is happy to accept Health-Net Healthy Families only. Does Fresno Children’s Medical Group take walk-in patients without an appointment? Fresno Children’s Medial Group is not a clinic and therefore all patients will be made an appointment. Does Fresno Children’s Medical Group have Saturday office hours? Yes, Fresno Children’s Medical Group does have Saturday office hours. We are open from 9:00-12:00 for acute illnesses only. Parents are asked to please call on Saturday morning to get an appointment. Appointments are made in the order in which the call was received. What if my child becomes ill during after office hours? Fresno Children’s Medical Group has a Dr. on call for after hour illnesses. If your child is experiencing a life threatening emergency please call 911 immediately. If you need to reach the Dr. on call please call 438-2300 and our exchange will page the physician to call back. If you have a block on your phone we do ask that you remove it so the physician can get in contact with you. Please note that the Dr. on call is for non-life threatening emergencies and to provide parents with advise that will help make the child comfortable until he/she can be seen in our office. Prescriptions will not be given without the child being seen in our office. What should I bring to each visit? We do ask that you bring your current insurance card, your child’s immunization record, any forms that you may need completed. What do I do if I don’t have my insurance card? If you haven’t received your insurance card we ask that you notify your plan administrator or insurance company directly and have them provide you with the subscriber number, group number of plan, effective date of insurance, co-pay amount and where claims are to be sent. This information will help us expedite the check-in process as well as providing our billing department with the necessary information needed to bill your insurance appropriately. Please note that without an insurance card you will be asked to sign a guarantor form agreeing to pay for all medical services rendered.
